When is patch 9.2 coming? How long do we have to wait for the next big content update for Blizzard's online role-playing game? The answer is: perhaps less long than previously thought. Because the PTR release of update 9.2 is already casting its shadow: The dataminers from Wowhead have discovered a first encrypted vendor build in WoW's Content Delivery Network (CDN).

Vendor build comes unusually early

Normally, a new WoW update goes live on the PTR relatively quickly after the release of the previous game version. But as Wowhead's editorial team rightly points out, the period between the release of patch 9.1.5 and the appearance of the vendor build of patch 9.2 is unusually short.

The encrypted vendor build of Patch 9.1 was released almost a month after the release of Patch 9.0.5, the PTR release was five days later. This time, however, there are only three days (!) and not four weeks between the live server and the vendor build release. According to the release of past PTR versions, it would be conceivable that a first build of patch 9.2 already appears next week on the public test server of WoW (buy now 14,99 € )

It also fits that Game Director Ion Hazzikostas recently announced that players will soon learn more about Patch 9.2. The leak about a potential release of the update in spring 2022 doesn't seem completely out of the blue either.
