Update from 16.6: WoW: Shards of Domination can be removed and reused - for Stygia (1) Source: buffed In the meantime, the price for the item on the PTR has changed. Instead of just a few gold coins, you now have to invest Stygia. The Soulfire Chisel costs a whopping 2,500 Stygia in the current PTR build. However, you still only have to invest this once and can recycle unlimited shards afterwards.
Oringinalmeldung: As is now common in WoW (buy now 14,99 € ), a new system comes into play with patch 9.1, which further increases the strength of our characters - regardless of an increasing item level, which of course will also come. In patch 9.1 we are allowed to equip many of our items from the new raid Sanctum of Domination with special sockets - the Shards of Domination. These grant special bonuses, as well as a respective set bonus, if you follow the guidelines when choosing your shards.
Shards of Domination can be gouged out
With the latest build, the Soulfire Chisel item has been added to the game. This allows you to remove the shards from their sockets without destroying them like normal gems do. This means you won't need countless shards to try out different combinations, and you'll be able to switch back and forth regularly, adapting your particular socketing to the tasks ahead of you.Source: buffed Source: buffed
All you need for this is the item. Currently, you can only buy the Soulfire Chisel from a merchant in Korthia - for a manageable 20 gold. The item also does not consume (at least currently on the PTR). You only have to buy it once and can change it around as much as you want. With this, the developers have addressed one of the major criticisms of the system before the release on the live servers and adjusted it to the satisfaction of most players.03:42
