While players of WoW: Shadowlands have been able to celebrate Solstice 2021 since yesterday, there is no sign of the NPCs, bonfires, etc. in WoW: Burning Crusade Classic. The irritation is intensified because the quest addon Questiehas been placing order exclamation marks everywhere on the maps of the capitals since June 21.
To clear up exactly this irritation, Community Manager Kaivax spoke up in the official WoW forum a few hours ago. Here are the most important findings from the post:
- Since TBC Classic only launched a few weeks ago, the developers will postpone the Solstice Festival.
- Players should have more time to level up and then get the most out of Ahune and co. at the event.
- In TBC Classic, this year's Solstice Festival will now start on July 20, 2021. In 2022, the event will then take place in June again, as usual.
- In addition, Blizzard will be bringing back the Spirit of Competition event on July 20 to coincide with the Summer Olympics Fire, which has only been done once before in WoW history: In 2008, in celebration of the Summer Olympics at the time.
- Details on both events will be available next month.
At the Spirit of Competition event, we could earn a tabard or an Asian dragon pet through PvP battlegrounds. The tabard was given for successfully participating in a PvP battleground (regardless of whether you won or lost). The pet, on the other hand, was only given for a win, and then only with a certain chance, though the chance was said to be higher on smaller battlegrounds like Warsong Gulch.
