In the patch notes for the recently released PTR build of Patch 9.1, you'll find a lot of new features for Torghast and class changes, as well as an interesting subsection on professions. First off, with the Optional Reagents introduced with Shadowlands, you can now take crafted items to item level 200 instead of item level 180. This is nice for new characters in particular, but now becomes interesting for endgame players as well.
Because much more interesting is the new mark of the Chained Island artisan. This time of the craftsman sets the item level of the item to 230. For comparison: In the Sanctum of Domination the front bosses drop items with item level 226 in normal mode, in heroic 239. So with a 230 item you get a very good item for the start of the new content even as a Mythic raider and even as a heroic raider 230 is not wrong, especially since you can choose the ideal stats on the item.
Items made by painting the Chained Isle craftsman have a disadvantage, of course. You cannot fully outfit your character with 230 items. These items have the tooltip addition "Shadowlands Crafted", which limits the equipment of Shadowlands-crafted items to (1). So you can only wear one 230 item. However, this at least allows you to fill equipment gaps in a meaningful way and gives you further possibilities to optimize your character and its stats besides the Maw-Touched Items and Legendarys.
